Most database management tools focus on administration, and have clumsy, cluttered interfaces with functions many users never touch. In the majority of our projects, we don't allow manual schema changes - those must go through checks and balances such as code review, automated testing, and CI/CD to maintain consistency across all environments and prevent human error. In all but the smallest apps, databases are just too critical to risk.

But it's often still very helpful to search, query, and report on data when troubleshooting or supporting customers, especially before internal admin tools have been built. To address this need, we built Dowser to provide a streamlined, delightful interface for quickly browsing and search data in major database apps, including Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite, and more.
