Requirements
A Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 13 or later. Intel Macs aren't supported. Windows is coming.
Coming later
- Creating zip archives and adding files to them. Opening and extracting them works today.
- Custom keyboard shortcuts. The defaults follow Total Commander.
- Renaming files on remote connections, resuming an interrupted transfer, Send To, a command line, and searching across folders.
- Phones and cameras over USB, and iPhones and iPads.
- Browsing your network for SMB servers. You can connect to one by name or address today.
Google Photos rescue
- The rescue works through Google's own web page, which can change without notice. When it does, a run stops rather than guess, and nothing goes to the trash unless its copy was downloaded and checked first.
- Google lists a limited number of items in its large photos and videos view, so a big library can take more than one pass. Scan again as you clear space, and the list in Daylight Commander updates.
- The extension installs from a download rather than the Chrome Web Store, so the browser shows a notice about developer mode extensions when it starts, and you update it by loading the new version yourself.
- Google can take a day or two to update its storage figure after items move to the trash.
